Our Communities

There are more than 40,000 people throughout the Village of East Aurora and the six surrounding townships. People enjoy living here because of the multitude of opportunities that this community has to offer. It has the homey feel of a small town, while offering the sophistication of the city with its arts and culture, shops, and entertainment. There are also many business opportunities for growth in local industrial parks or in other existing sites throughout these communities. The Greater East Aurora area is very distinctive in that it combines an active and vital manufacturing and retail environment with quaint, historic, and attractive residential communities. Village of EAST AURORA

The historic community of East Aurora has plenty of unique attractions for people searching for a close, fun-filled daytrip. The Village of East Aurora and Town of Aurora have been home to some amazing people and movements, including President Millard Fillmore, the Roycroft Arts & Crafts movement and the founders of the international toy company, Fisher-Price. East Aurora’s quaint, historic Main Street – directly off Route 400, just 25 miles from downtown Buffalo features a variety of shops, eateries, museums, historic sites and adventures to meet every family’s requirements for a full day of fun. TOWN OF AURORA

Dept. of Parks & Recreation – www.aurorarec.com The town of Aurora was founded in 1818 and is 36 square miles with a population of about 14,000 which includes the Village of East Aurora, the hamlets of Jewettville, Griffins Mills, and West Falls, as well as a portion of South Wales. One of the most prominent historical residents was President Millard Fillmore, who settled in Aurora in the early 1820s, 27 years before becoming president. The town, and some of its hamlets, also played an important role in the Abolitionist Movement and Underground Railroad during the Civil War due to the close proximity to Canada. The Town of Aurora is governed by a Town Board consisting of a Town Supervisor and four Town Council Members. Town governmental offices, along with the Aurora Town Museum, which is maintained by the Aurora Historical Society, is located at 300 Gleed Avenue. VIEW AURORA COMMUNITY DEMOGRAPHICS  

TOWN OF COLDEN

Colden is located off Route 240, and is a picturesque community formed in 1827. In the mid-1800’s, Colden became known for its mills, which manufactured washing machines, spinning wheels, ironing boards, and shingles. TOWN OF ELMA

Elma is situated in the center of Erie County. It is 36 square miles and home to more than 11,000 residents, the Elma Meadows Golf Course, and two town parks: the Elma Village Green and Creek Road Park. Elma has attracted several large nationally and internationally recognized businesses. Moog, an aerospace product manufacturer, has its corporate headquarters in Elma, and the town is also home to Steuben Foods and Servotronics. VIEW ELMA COMMUNITY DEMOGRAPHICS

TOWN OF HOLLAND

The Town of Holland is located on Route 16 and is home to a variety of attractions including antique and collectible shops and the Holland NASCAR Motorsports Complex. Holland holds the Holland Tulip Festival annually, which takes place the second weekend in May. VIEW HOLLAND COMMUNITY DEMOGRAPHICS

TOWN OF MARILLA

Marilla, founded in 1853, offers many beautiful agricultural landscapes for those interested in a scenic drive. Make sure to stop at the Marilla General Store and Museum at the corner of Bullis and Two Rod roads. VIEW MARILLA COMMUNITY DEMOGRAPHICS  

TOWN OF WALES
