Hartloff Benefit Solutions Grand Opening Aug. 18

Hartloff Benefit Solutions LLC relocation and renovation of the former Chet’s restaurant has family ties

If you drive past the former Chet’s restaurant on Olean Road, you’ll notice it has a new look.

In June, Hartloff Benefit Solutions LLC, an employee benefits and Medicare agency, moved into the newly renovated space at 437 Olean Road that was once Chet’s restaurant.

“I have fond memories as a small child of going to Chet’s for ice cream,” said April Hartloff, owner of Hartloff Benefit Solutions. But that’s not the only family connection to the former popular restaurant. In the early 2000s, Hartloff’s parents bought the restaurant and renamed it Mabel’s. Later they sold the property but, due to unfortunate circumstances, they took the property back after the sale.

“It had been vacant for five years when I presented an idea to my parents of converting the building into offices for Hartloff Benefits,” she said. “I was able to repurpose an iconic landmark in East Aurora and keep the property in the family. It’s funny that every client who comes into conduct business with us then asks for two dogs with everything to go!”

A Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting event will be held Thursday, Aug. 18 at 4 p.m. at the new location – 437 Olean Road. Anyone may attend and reservations may be made at https://HartloffBenefitsRibbonCutting.eventbrite.com

Before relocating to Olean Road, Hartloff Benefits had been on Seneca Street in Elma for several years. It is a woman-owned business. Hartloff has more than 30 years in the insurance industry with the past 17 focused on employee benefits. Medicare planning was added as a service to the business about a decade ago.

“I recognized a need about ten years ago that the employees in my group accounts were struggling with the transition from employer sponsored insurance to Medicare. I made it my mission to help these employees and make the transition as seamless and painless as possible,” she said. “This has been a huge additional benefit for our groups.”

Hartloff Benefits’ mission can be summed up simply: Enroll, Educate, and Empower. They are values April Hartloff lives every day. “It’s the ability to help people; help them with plan choices, help them understand their plans and get the most out of the plans. We really do have the ability to significantly help people save money. I love my team and awesome clients.”
