John Pirrone and Scott DeMott, owners of RUSTIC BUFFALO ARTISAN MARKET, continue to grow as they bring RUSTIC BUFFALO ARTISAN MARKET, their second
location, to the quaint village of East Aurora.
Their current location, located at 6610 Shawnee Road, North Tonawanda NY is bursting at the seams with over 110 local, award winning Artisan’s work and now employing close to 16 team members during their busiest times and this expansion will add jobs and opportunities to the
community.
Pirrone & DeMott’s business, RUSTIC BUFFALO ARTISAN MARKET is a rather unique model, bringing together local Artisans from WNY to showcase and sell their goods. Most
items in the market are hand-made by local Artisans with some beautiful wholesale home décor and textiles meshed in, making it a shopper’s delight. DeMott, co-owner, comments that “The opening of RUSTIC BUFFALO ARTISAN MARKET’s second location in East Aurora provides a solution for those customers who have always wanted to experience this Northtown treasure and provide our team of Artisans the ability to show and sell their work to other regions within Western New York”.
RUSTIC BUFFALO offers an array of Decor items such as Farmhouse, Rustic, Buffalo Themed, Vintage and Shabby Chic. The East Aurora store, although smaller, will provide a taste of Rustic Buffalo to the Southtowns community hoping most will be equally eager to explore their 8,000 Square foot campus, made up of 4 buildings, in North Tonawanda.
Some of what you will see in East Aurora are one of a kind finds where there are thousands of items such as Custom Signs. Floral, Antiques, Handmade Jewelry, Re-purposed Furniture, Hand-poured Candles, Textiles/Clothing, Metal Art, Concrete Art, Photography, Handmade Soaps & Scrubs, Pet Accessories, Pillows, Barn Art, Glass Art and Buffalo-themed Gourmet Foods.
Their pantry area of the East Aurora store will be stocked with everyone’s favorites such as Lewiston Jellies, Grandma Pauline’s Gourmet Dips, 3 Sisters Garlic, Gourmet popcorn, local salsa, BBQ sauces, Teds Hot Dog sauce, fresh fudge, Rustic Buffalo’s ground coffee, an old-time candy area and much more. They will even stock the original Swiss Chalet Sauce that everyone loved and adored back in the day.
In addition, Rustic Buffalo brings a very special addition to East Aurora as they have redesigned the alley between 650 and 652 Main Street in the village naming it “Artisan Alley” where you’ll find some great local outdoor artwork to dress up the access to the village. The Artwork is photo-worthy, and you may be so inclined to even snap a selfie.
Rustic Buffalo Artisan Market is open year-round, 7 Days a week at both their North Tonawanda location and now, their East Aurora Store. The owners believe it’s important that
they have consistent hours in both locations, especially since East Aurora is a destination and are thrilled at the community’s support.
In 2022, over 110,000 customers visited Rustic Buffalo Artisan Market. If you have yet to experience Rustic Buffalo, you do not know what you are missing! Not to mention you are

Red Ribbon Week takes place every year from October 23-31 and is the nation’s largest and longest-running drug-use prevention campaign. This year the theme is “Celebrate Life. Live Drug Free.” Red Ribbon Week (RRW) inspires our kids to be happy and drug free.
ITAC celebrates RRW by sharing information with our youth and the community about drug & alcohol prevention. Things like – how to talk to your children about the subject (or teens how to talk to your parents!), how to stay safe, healthy, and make positive choices, and ways we can all work together to reduce underage substance use.
Teens whose parents regularly talk to them about drugs are 42% less likely to use than those that don’t. Only a quarter of teens report having these conversations. Even if you don’t think your child wants to drink or try other drugs, peer pressure is a powerful thing. Having a plan to avoid alcohol and drug use can help youth make better choices. Talk with your teen about what they would do if faced with a decision about alcohol and drugs and make a plan with them on how to say no or how to get out of the situation.
You may have seen on TV or online recently a prevention campaign called “Talk. They Hear You” from SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration – a division of US Department of Health & Human Services). This campaign aims to reduce underage drinking and other substance use among youths under the age of 21
by providing parents and caregivers with information and resources they need to address these issues with their children early and often. You can find more tips and conversation starters on their website at samhsa.gov/talk-they-hear-you.
If you have younger children, it’s not too soon! In some ways, the sooner the better. You can start by talking to them about the drugs they see every day – perhaps even the ones they take every day. Young kids need to know that medications and vitamins can be bad for you if you take too much, or if it’s not meant for you. Keep prescription medicines locked away and tell your kids never to take anything that might be a drug or a vitamin without their caregivers’ permission.
Visit and like/follow our Facebook page at “ITAC – It Takes a Community” for ongoing tips, resources and videos to watch with your kids.
